I take pictures. That's the honest start of it. Everyone told me early on to pick one thing and become the guy for it, fashion, food, interiors or portraits, and I could see why that works, but I never managed it and it took me a while to accept it and not fight it.

It's not the subject that gets me. It's the second where something slips and shows itself. Hour three of an event when people finally forget I'm there. A lifestyle shot where the light lands slightly wrong and suddenly the thing looks true. Eight years of architecture, documentary, lifestyle, portraits, events, and the only thing they have in common is me waiting for that.

Staying open like that has taken me to places I would never have got to otherwise. Rooms I had no business being in, people I'd never have met, cities I wouldn't have picked. The camera has been how I've come to understand the world. I wouldn't trade that for owning a niche.

Then the whole AI thing turned up and I wasn't scared of it at all. I was hooked. You can build a world instead of finding one. Light it, cast it, set the weather, do alone in a week what used to take a crew and a budget. And the thing nobody said out loud at the start is that it rewards exactly what photography taught me. Composition. What a lens does. How light sits on skin, on metal, on glass. Why one frame feels real and the next feels staged. I'm putting eight years of actual shooting into it and I haven't been this excited about work in a long time.
